Research Foundation NEW YORK, NY (ContentDesk) May 7, 2004 --- M. Nasim Ali, executive vice president, marketing and sales at SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc. has joined the board of trustees of the Foundation for the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research & Development (CHPRD).Since 1975, CHPRD has been working through New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs to empower the Hispanic community through various programs and services, including:* Administering grants to community-based organizations;* Offering assistance and referral services to empower community-based organizations;* Creating training and employment opportunities for college interns;* Developing public/private partnerships to enrich CHPRD's programs and initiatives;* Recognizing the contributions of the New Jersey Latino community.As a trustee, Mr. Ali will provide guidance and suggestions on how to further empower the Latino community. Mr. Ali added that recent studies by the Life Insurance Marketing Association* have shown that only 34 percent of the Hispanic population have life insurance, compared with 62 percent of the general population.
